Independent culture desk · Seoul & Busan

Korea Klub

Korean pop culture, music charts, drama recaps, street food maps, and expat life.

Where to send what

Korea Klub is run by a small editorial desk, so it helps to pick the right route before you write. Story tips about Korean pop culture, chart movements, drama releases, street food or expat life in Seoul and Busan go to the editors. Press enquiries and contributor pitches are handled by the Buenos Aires contact desk, which is the named channel for that correspondence. Questions about language-learning columns or interviews with indie creators, translators and small venue owners also belong with the editors rather than with any account or membership system.

Story tips

Spotted something worth covering, a venue closing, a chart claim that does not add up, a market stall that deserves a shortlist entry? Send it to the editors with as much context as you can: where you saw it, when, and what makes it worth a column.

Press enquiries and pitches

Press requests, interview proposals and contributor pitches are routed through the Buenos Aires contact desk. If you are pitching a piece, describe the beat and the reporting you already have rather than a finished draft.

By post

Documents and printed material for the desk can be sent to the Buenos Aires address below. This is a correspondence address only, not a walk-in office.

Av. Corrientes 1386, C1043 Buenos Aires, Argentina

Before you write, the questions most readers ask are already answered in one place. Common topics cover how the weekly chart notes are put together, how the Friday digest works, and how to reach the right desk for a pitch.

Reaching the Korea Klub editorial desk

If you have a story tip from Seoul, Busan or anywhere the coverage reaches, the editors are the people to write to. Press enquiries and contributor pitches go through the Buenos Aires contact desk, which is the named route for that kind of correspondence.

Questions about the language-learning columns, chart notes or interviews with indie creators, translators and small venue owners also belong with the editorial desk rather than with any account or membership system.

Before you write to the desk

Story tips, press enquiries and contributor pitches reach the same editorial desk, but they arrive in different shapes. A few details up front save a round of back-and-forth — and none of them are strictly required. Send what you have.

Length and format

A tip can be three lines in the body of an email. A pitch works better as a short outline: the beat, the angle, and who you would talk to. Drafts are welcome but not expected. If you have already filed the piece elsewhere, say so.

Timing

Chart notes and concert calendars run weekly, so material tied to a release date or a show is worth flagging early. Neighborhood food and venue reporting is less time-bound. Nothing here carries a deadline you have to meet.

Images and place

If you are writing about a specific room, stall or stage, name the neighborhood — Hongdae, Euljiro, Jeonju and the Busan beaches all read differently on the page. Photos of the place help, but a clear description of what is visible works too.

What you want back

Tell the editors what the piece is for: a chart explainer, a drama format note, a language column, a venue interview. That decides which part of the desk picks it up, and whether it fits the current issue or the Friday digest.

Press enquiries and contributor pitches go through the Buenos Aires contact desk at support@koreaklub.com. Reader tips can go to the same address.
